Figuring out the financial aspects of therapy can sometimes be the biggest barrier to receiving help. Our healthcare system can be confusing to navigate, so I hope to make things as easy as possible. There are a few factors to consider, whether you want to see me or anyone else:

What kind of health insurance plan do you have? More specifically, what mental health benefits do they cover? Does your plan have a copay or a deductible? Am I in your specific health plan’s network? These are all important questions to ask your insurance provider before setting up an appointment. The last thing I want for my clients is an unexpected balance, so I am happy to help provide guidance where I can.

Do you even want to use your insurance? Some people prefer leaving insurance out of the equation, this can be because they want our work to remain anonymous, they don’t have a qualified mental health diagnosis in order to receive coverage, or because their insurance plan won’t cover enough of the costs to justify the process. Either way, we can talk about it some options for payments if you want to leave them out of it.

Does your employer offer Employee Assistance Program benefits? It is becoming more common for employers to partner with EAP providers to offer free mental health services for their employees and dependents. Check with your employer to see if this is an option for you.
